You can upload video versions of your show to Spotify – but with a caveat.
Spotify announced that podcasts hosted on third-party platforms, like RedCircle, are able to upload video versions of their show to Spotify.
However, the video version replaces the audio version of the episode on Spotify.
If you’re interested in uploading video to Spotify, then read on! (Of course, you can also upload a video version of your podcast directly to YouTube with our integration.)
How to Upload Videos
It’s relatively easy to add videos of your episodes to Spotify. Just follow the steps below!
1) Log in to your Spotify for Podcasters account
- If you haven’t claimed your show on Spotify for Podcasters, please follow the steps in our Help Center here.
2) Click on Episodes from the menu on the left side of the page
3) Click on the three dots (...) at the very right of your episode and select Upload Video
4) Select the video file you want to upload and review the details
Once reviewed, your episode will now be in video format!
An Important Note
Adding a video version of your episode to Spotify replaces your audio version. This means that any downloads for your video on Spotify will not be counted in RedCircle’s analytics.
Additionally, any dynamically inserted RAP ads or custom dynamic insertion will not be added to the video. So, if you’re monetizing your podcast, then it may be better to keep this episode as audio-only! You can always upload the video version of your podcast to YouTube using RedCircle’s integration.
